COACHES AND STAFF

Camp Directors: Combine over 125 years of experience teaching boys and girls at Excel.

Frank Allocco, Sr.: Camp Director has led our camp for the past 42 years. Frank has coached at the youth, high school, and collegiate levels.

Art Cattano: Head Coach, New Providence High School for the past 38 years. Coach Cattano has won two State Championships and several State Coaching Awards. In 2018-19 he was named the New Jersey State Coach of the Year by USA Today. He has been an Assistant Director of Excel Camp for the past 41 years! He has been an outstanding teacher, coach and leader in the New Providence community since 1977.

Brian Sullivan: Assistant Director of Excel for the past 30 years, both in California and in New Jersey. Coach Sullivan coached High School Basketball for 23 years and currently is the Principal at Rheem Elementary School in Moraga, CA. In his spare time, he is a CYO Administrator and Coach for Saint Monica's CYO in Moraga. Brian was a record setting point guard at Clayton Valley High School and Eastern Washington University. Brian was the first Most Valuable Player in the history of our camp and has been with us ever since.

Gregg Allocco: Assistant Director of Excel for the past 30 years, Gregg has been a High School Coach for the past 25 years and is the Founder and Director of Excel Ohio. Gregg was an outstanding basketball player at Governor Livingston High School and Susquehanna University. Gregg was an amazing player at Excel throughout his childhood. He has become one of the finest leaders in youth basketball in the state of Ohio.

Frank Allocco, Jr.: Frankie was "born" at Excel, began roaming the hardwood shortly after his first steps. A legendary competitor at Excel he went on to Northgate High School where he led his team to the California State Championship. He accepted a basketball scholarship to Saint Mary's College where he was the starting point guard for three seasons. A High School Coach for 14 years and he current Head Coach at Clayton Valley Charter High School where he led his team to the first State Section title in school history. He is the founder and director of Nor Cal Elite, one of the top AAU programs in the state of California.

Our Staff Consists of a wide range of dedicated and committed professionals who have been carefully selected to work with your child. Our staff consists of High School Coaches, Youth Coaches, College Players, High School Players, CYO Coaches; all committed to serving your child and the "Excel Family." Most of our instructors attended our camp and continue to return to give back to an institution that gave them so much.

Our high instructor-to-student ratio will guarantee the individual attention your child deserves. All of our staff share our passion for the game and our sincere desire to share that love with your child.
